The beginning of our organisation started with Angela Atkinson – our Director, Manager, and the heart and soul of everything we do.
In August 2011, Angela recognised a need – a need for a group that would help pets across Townsville and the surrounding districts, from all walks of life. Puppies and kittens that couldn’t be properly cared for by their families, pets needing to be rehomed due to changes in family circumstances, or animals that had been abandoned or found lost.
Fourteen years on, the animal rescue network in North Queensland is still struggling under the weight of homeless and unwanted animals. As a team, we now spend every day working tirelessly to keep TFRA running smoothly and to ensure that every animal that comes through our doors gets the best chance at life possible.
