Leadership Excellence Program

The Ville is launching the inaugural Leadership Excellence Program and is looking for motivated, dedicated and ambitious applicants that want to further their hospitality careers to join! Leadership Excellence is for current and aspiring leaders and is broken down into two categories.

LEADers Program

LEADers program stands for Lead, Engage, Adapt and Develop, and is designed for our existing Shift Supervisors, Duty Managers and Venue Managers. It aims to provide coaching and mentorship to our leaders and allow them to further develop their leadership skills, including but not limited to:

  • People Management – probations and performance reviews, addressing difficult behaviours and disciplinary action
  • TANDA, rostering and understanding our different industry agreements
  • Recruitment, selection and induction
  • The FISH! Philosophy – Becoming and encouraging culture champions
  • Complex conflict managements
  • Suicide prevention and intervention training
  • Budgets and financial reports (including Lightyear)
  • Stress Management
  • Train the Trainer – developing coaching skills
  • Discover your leadership style - challenging leaders to look at how they lead themselves, so they can lead others better and more effectively
  • “A day in the life” – forming a deeper appreciation for other departments by working in their area for a day

Future Leaders

The Future Leaders program aims to provide nominated participants with the knowledge and skills to advance as a leader within The Ville. It provides an opportunity for staff to be exposed to the many different elements of The Ville, providing awareness and knowledge on the structure of our Venue, and educating participants further in all fields of communication, leadership and teamwork.

The program will run over a 12 month period and aims to:

  • Develop inspired leaders with a heightened awareness of their surroundings and to provide key connections that produce a strong personal support network.
  • Enhance leadership skills and qualities
  • Create pathways to leadership roles in the future

Future Leaders of The Ville work within our Hotel, Food & Beverage, Gaming, Culinary and Housekeeping departments and do not have to be in a supervisor role. They are our:

  • Senior staff members seeking
  • Team trainers seeking a pathway to the next step in their career
  • Passionate, developed and career driven team members
